High upon the Trompenberg is the villa Buen Retiro in neo-Renaissance style, built in 1875 to the design of the Amsterdam architect I. Gosschalk. Originally, the villa was equipped with a tower to enjoy the panoramic view.
From the Trompenbergerweg you have a good view of the richly detailed facade. Following the example of the Renaissance, the villa contains a basement and a bel-etage and a risalite with a neck gable topped by a round arch with shell motif. The villa has been restored and at the same time expanded at the rear with a new apartment complex.
