J. van Laren (1877-1953) has left a fairly extensive oeuvre in the Gooi with the Gooise country houses, middle-class houses, offices and retail buildings he designed in the style of the Amsterdam School. This series of medium-sized houses stands out because of the strong vertical facade parts under roof surfaces that extend very far down. In these accents, the entrances are located under the arches.
