In 1973 the large, completely covered shopping and viewing center was opened in the center. The large-scale building with a ramp and parking on the roof opened up to Groest, Kerkstraat and Zeedijk. The center where you could shop warm and dry made a big impression. The escalators were located in the large central light hall. The retail spaces provided variety due to the different finishes and interiors. The concept of the shopping center was based on the grab-and-hold system. The shopkeepers wanted their own washrooms, probably so as not to tempt staff to stay away for long periods of time.
