The design of the two retail houses refers to the Jugendstil because of the arch shapes, the colored stained glass windows and the decorative anchors. In contrast to the slender Jugendstil shapes, the design of this complex also has coarse shapes, such as the predominant round plastered surfaces. That is why the retail houses are also reminiscent of the work of H.P. Berlage and K.P.C. de Bazel.
