As of October 15, 2021, Luuc Jonker is director of the Dudok Architecture Center (DAC). He has taken over this position from Patricia Alkhoven. She is leaving to devote more attention to her other job (coordinator of the Living Past route of the National Science Agenda at the Humanities Cluster of the KNAW in Amsterdam).
With the appointment of Luuc Jonker (1968) as director, the DAC continues on the path it has taken to develop the foundation as a platform for debate and knowledge exchange, including education, about architecture, urban planning and spatial heritage in Hilversum and the Gooi and fight. Jonker has been a board member of the DAC since its re-establishment in 2015. He organized the Open Monument Day in 2017 and 2018 and organized the Day of Architecture in 2018.
“Luuc Jonker is a creative organizer with a passion for heritage; he is a proven connector with extensive experience in the cultural field and (vocational) education and lives in Hilversum.” said Irmgard van Koningsbruggen, chairman of the board of DAC.
Luuc: “I am looking forward to further putting Hilversum on the map with the DAC as a city of heritage and young monuments, to connect Hilversum residents with their city by allowing them to look with a fresh perspective and to inspire professionals to a current vision of architecture and urban planning, ready for the future.”
In the online edition of the Gooi en Eembode of Saturday, October 16, 2021, an article appeared with an extensive introduction to Luuc Jonker.
