Shortly after the approval of his design for the town hall in Hilversum, Dudok started designing a student pavilion in Paris. The organizing committee had in mind such a building because “modern Dutch architecture had to be represented in a dignified manner in this representative place”. However, it took until 1938 before the building could be opened by Princess Juliana. In 2005 the now neglected building was designated a monument historique. It was reopened in 2016 after a thorough restoration.
