In the mid-1930’s Dudok designed a number of houses and housing projects of an architectural quality that far exceeded the average, yet received virtually no attention whatsoever. Residential district De Burgh in Eindhoven (1937-1938) is such a modern garden village, which is appealing because of the beautiful placement of building blocks, the fresh colours, and the fine detailling.
