In 1916 Dudok designed a service building and fire station garage for the municipal wharf site on Langgewenst. It was one of his first designs as Director of Public Works of Hilversum. The service building had a very varied facade behind which the various functions of the building were accommodated. The garage had a high tower with decorations in the Amsterdam School style. The rod divisions in the windows and the varied masonry also refer to this style. The complex was demolished in the 1960s.
