Architect Marius A. Poel built his own house with a drawing studio in 1907. The simple house has a gable end that radiates the sun. The front terrace is covered by an awning on carved pillars. The floor plan is specially designed, creating surprising places. From the front hall with the taphouse one enters the hall, which ends in a portal to the southeast side, from which one could reach the conservatory. The chimneys for the fireplaces of the living room and the studio next to it are located in this portal! Upstairs there was a drawing room and a few rooms along a narrow curved corridor.
