These buildings in the Boomberg residential area stand out because of their different type and architectural style. They were commissioned by the widow Vorstelman-Brix, who occupied number 34. Number 36 was the study with a living room for her son, who was a photographer.
The entire ground floor was intended for the practice of his profession. The lounge and a large roof terrace are located on the first floor. In 1949, the floor was converted into a residence by architect Middag. The relationship with the Nieuwe Bouwen is clear from the block shape and the use of concrete and steel. The buildings form a striking element in the oeuvre of architect Middag, because he previously designed in the style of the Amsterdam School and the business-like country house style.
