The large Art Nouveau villa with half-timbered elements was built in 1902 to a design by J.H. Slot and is iconic in the Nimrodpark situated on the ‘s-Gravelandseweg and the Hoflaan. Slot designed outdoor living with terraces, conservatories and covered balconies. The Jugendstil is beautifully reflected in the round arches, in the wainscot and in the asymmetrical balustrade with arched molding above the portico. The stairwell is lit by a large colored stained glass window. Architect J.H. Slot lived in Hilversum and designed a large number of buildings, not only villas, but also shop houses and small middle-class houses.
