On the east side of the large railway crossing is the former tram station, built for the Gooische Stoomtram. The symmetrical building is built in yellow brick.
It was finished with wrought iron decorations above the entrance. From Hilversum station it was possible to travel further by tram of the Gooische Stoomtram to other Gooise villages. During the preparations for the construction of the railway, the possibility of running the railway along Laren was also discussed. In the end, Laren only got a tram connection with the railway in Hilversum. The tram was popularly called the Gooische Killer.
