Set on a narrow, deep plot on the edge of an old narrow, this country cottage reflects the development of traditionalism in Hanrath’s work. The Dutch, good and beautiful brick was shown unconcealed, so that the beautiful structure of the material remained visible. The garden design with geometric motifs has been preserved. In 1909 and 1924 Hanrath’s cottage was expanded. At the front is an architectural garden. In the backyard is a landscape element, consisting of a double row of trees that probably gave shade for the animals or for a vegetable garden. The first design was probably lost in the expansion.
