9th Municipal Housing Development

Nachtegaalstraat, Zwaluwstraat, Zwaluwplein and Jan van der Heijdenstraat, Hilversum

At his own request, Dudok receives an order from the mayor and city council for the 9th housing complex. The architect wanted to keep the buildings around the Jan van der Heyden school in one hand. Dudok originally designed 42 homes. As part of the Dudok Revisited project, 16 homes were demolished in 2009 and 26 homes were thoroughly renovated and modernized into 16 new homes.
