Residential Building S.A. Basil

In Calcutta, India, Dudok built the yellow brick residence for the director of Humayan Properties Ltd. This developer had engaged Dudok for the construction of a cinema and hotel in the center of the city. The house consisted of two transverse block volumes, the largest of which served as the actual residence and the smaller was intended for the staff, kitchen and garage. The hall and stairs were located in an ‘intermediate block’.
