In 1921, Dudok designed a series of large family homes for N.V. Tuindorp Naarden. Because of their location within the “forbidden rings” of the Naarden fortress, the houses were made of wood except for the chimney and plinth, so that they could be demolished quickly in the event of a threat of war. The houses are connected in pairs of two or three, fromd the road they look like spacious country houses.
